Late Night Flow | Creative Minds

I've always been told I should sleep earlier, it's good for my health. Of course I agree; sleep is amazing but what people don't understand is that the late hours past midnight are my most creative hours. It's when the night is the most calm and quiet. It's a time for me to just be with myself. While the world falls fast asleep, I'm up alone with a pen and paper writing down every creative thought that comes to mind. I use to be afraid of the night, I use to think the night was full of monsters and terror. But as the older I get, the more I see beauty in the night. I see the stars twinkling in the sky, the clouds playing hide and seek with the moon and I hear the peaceful echoes of the wind. I'm so thankful for the night because it reminds me of how creative I am, which is a beautiful thing to embrace. Creativity was something I use to always hide about myself; being a perfectionist I never believed my creative thoughts were good enough for anyone. Then I realized that being creative isn't for others... it's for myself, it's a way for me to express my thoughts, my passions and my dreams. It doesn't matter if others don't see what you see or appreciate what you create, all the matters is that you find an outlet that allows you to express yourself openly, honestly, and freely. Youtube found me and I will always be thankful for that. I love creating content and coming up with new ideas and ways to present my work.

As I sit here at my kitchen table in the middle of the night I think of all the dreams that I am dreaming and all the ideas I want to bring to life. You don't always have to be asleep in order to dream.

Truthfully this post has no point, but it's almost 1am and my mind if flowing with so many beautiful thoughts and ideas and I just wanted to share the process with you guys. Hope you enjoyed reading, and let me know in the comments what your creative outlet is. How do you express yourself?

  1. Hi Jackie, I loved this random and unique post :) I definitely know where you're coming from and I love the night as well. Ever since my boyfriend and I moved in together 3 years ago, we are professional night owls. He works nights till 3 am during the week and I work from home, so I tend to work late myself. I love being up late planning new ideas and writing lists. I love to stay organized. As for expressing myself, I do that through my blog and the careful decorating of our home.

And in case you're wondering, I'm in Michigan and its about 6 am here and it basically our "evening". We truly live our lives on an opposite schedule, but we love it and it works for us. Have a great night!

  2. I'm still trying to figured out my best time of the day for creativity but I feel like for me the best time is between 8-10am (I am the most productive at these hours). I'm too tired at night to stay focus and creative and I think it all depends on people lifestyle- I just find mornings the best for me to do anything for myself (eg working out at the gym, filming youtube videos etc) :)

  3. You are such a beautiful person Jackie! I hope you make more post like this..I felt so close to you when I read this...it's like I really know you even though we have never met 😃
I feel the same way about the night, I always have energy and get so much done past midnight! I don't think it's terrible to stay up late, being a mother of an almost two year old, the night time is the only time I get time to myself! But even though I stay up till 4 or 5 am I'm always up by 9 and strangely I feel so much better than when I use to go to bed at 9 pm and up at 5 am

    1. Hi Jackie, I love reading your post. I also love watching your videos. I've actually have been wanting to start a blog my self. I am having a hard time trying to figure out on how to create one. Would you be able to do a video or a blog on how to crate a blog? I also want to tell you that I admire you and inspire me. I've always been into beauty and fashion but something always holds me back on doing what I enjoy. Because of ur motivation and determination I've decided to start a blog. Hopefully you'll read this n decide to do a video or a blog post. :)

  4. I actually started a blog this year to creatively express myself. My friends and I don't share the same interests so I'm hoping to make some fellow blogger friends. Anyway, I write about stuff I've been learning or into these days. Not to mindlessly ramble about stuff but to be helpful and spread positivity.

I used to be a night person but nowadays (I think because of daylight savings) I find myself going to sleep later and later. I do think I'm more productive in the mornings though so I'm trying to revive that routine.
