Purple Rain

As I continue to book more clients and work with different faces I'm rediscovering the love and art of doing makeup on others that I use to feel before. When you do your own makeup time and time again it's routine and it's normal. But when someone sits in your chair you realize you can't apply makeup in the same way because this face is totally different and unique. That's what I love about working with clients... every face shape, every skin texture, skin tone, everything is unique. So each time I pick up my brush I have a challenge in front of me as I decide how to approach each individual face.

Today I worked with my friend Katie, we met at the dog park and her huskies are best friends with our dogs (Zoey & Coco). She let me do whatever I wanted with her face and I decided to go with some fun purple colors. The shades I used were all very subtle and deeper so it wasn't bright-neon-crazy-in-your-face kind of colors. Purple is one of those colors that easily looks good on EVERYONE! So if you're going to play with color on clients purple is a safe way to go.

Katie has the prettiest eye color so I'm glad I went with purple because it totally makes her eye color pop even more.
